Billed as one of the world’s most famous rock n’ roll resorts, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas is known for its iconic collection of artist memorabilia. On public display throughout the Hard Rock guests will find one of the most amazing collections of rock and roll memorabilia. Carefully curated by Beau Dobney, the artist relations and exhibit coordinator, the collection, valued at over $4 million, boasts over 3,000 pieces with about 200 on display at any given time.
This rock n’ roll museum of sorts includes instruments, concert and music video outfits, guitars and personal items from scores of artists and bands. The memorabilia displayed at each Hard Rock property holds a special connection to its specific destination and reinforces our love for musical expression.
For us in Las Vegas that means collections from Imagine Dragons and the Killers and the likes of iconic names like David Bowie, Journey and Lady Gaga.
How are items curated? By Dobney himself. Charged with furthering the resort’s commitment to honoring rock history, Dobney joined the Hard Rock in 2013 as an exhibits coordinator. Today, he does the staging, sets up the cases and maintains the majority of the collection.
Here’s a look at a few of the Hard Rock’s collections:
Aside from winning multiple Grammy Awards, Lady Gaga has just added an Academy Award to her mantle for the song “Shallow” she co-wrote for the 2018 movie A Star is Born, which she also starred in and performed with Bradley Cooper. When in Vegas, make it a point to see one of her extravagant costumes from the “Born This Way Ball Tour,” which was to promote her second album, Born This Way. The tour visited all continents, except Antarctica and was ranked as the fifth highest-grossing tour of 2012 by Pollstar.
Rocker Jonathan Davis, best known as the front-man of Korn dedicated his memorabilia case in October 2018. The case includes Davis’ typical “uniform,” an AllSaints black t-shirt, AllSaints black jeans and AllSaints black cardigan. He wore this outfit for an album release party of his 2018 solo album, Black Labyrinth. The outfit will also appear in an upcoming music video for “Basic Needs,” the second single from Black Labyrinth. The case is located on the casino floor, adjacent to Goose Island Pub.
The multi-platinum selling rock band dedicated their memorabilia case in February 2018. The case features personal items from each members as well as pieces from the band’s history. Guests can find the exclusive memorabilia case in The Joint hallway across from the Peacock High-Limit Gaming Lounge.
